"Marcurt Lust Is A Must for Wroxsons. V. feminine 8 months quality brindle/white bitch, typical head with good mouth, dark eyes, well laid shoulders, good height of foreleg, short back, correct tail with full tail, good rear angulation, well let down hocks, tight cat-like feet, evident fore chest. For a baby she ever put a foot wrong either standing or moving. BP and BOB"

Although this petition is no longer live it is still important to know the facts
Anyone who saw Our Dogs a few weeks ago will have seen the piece regarding a Boxer with a damaged tail and the palaver that the I have had to endure whilst trying to get some kind of response from The KC/DEFRA on being able to continue to show, continue to compete in Agility and even take the said dog to shows whilst working (as my livelihood is at all types of Shows with a Trade Stand) - currently DEFRA are stating the my dog can not be on any showground anywhere (when public are paying to get in) - this potentially affects my livelihood more than anything - if at a 4 day Agility Show the dogs would be with me - DEFRA are saying this now can not happen!
Unfortunately the tail has now had to be amputated and as such has raised concerns in all different areas of the 'showing' world - I am an avid Agility competitor as well as 'normal' showing and am devastated that this has to come to an end. The main concern has always been the welfare of my poor beautiful dog with the damaged tail which is why, irrelevant of the likelihood of all showing ending immediately, it has had to be removed to avoid any further damage or complications
A petition has been put together which is detailed below however someone else (obviously going through a similar scenario) has already put a petition together which has been accepted - making my petition being rejected by our Government!
My petition read as follows:
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to: 'Amend the animal welfare act 2006 to allow the exhibition of dogs that have had the whole or part of their tail removed for the purpose of its medical treatment'.
We would like the animal welfare act 2006 section 6 sub section 9a to be amended to allow the showing and exhibition of dogs which have had the whole or part of its tail removed for the purpose of its medical treatment at a event to which members of the public are admitted on payment of a fee. To enable dogs which have suffered accidental tail damage to be shown.
